Yoga for Managing Stress

All of us experience stress in different forms in our life, and stress is a major source of ill-health and unhappiness. Stress is not necessarily bad but when things seem to run out of control it is good to know how to help yourself.

In this workshop you will learn about the effects of stress on the body and mind and find out about current advice for managing stress. You will learn techniques to calm the symptoms of stress and practice mindful meditation to clear the mind. I will then guide you through a nurturing yoga practice combining Hatha and Yin yoga for a relaxing end to the afternoon.

All levels of practitioners are welcome to attend.

I have been a stress counsellor for over twelve years and have supported people facing both work-related and personal challenges. My workshops combine the ancient teachings with the currently recommended therapeutic principles of cognitive-behavioural therapy CBT (which have surprising similarities).

Planting a Seed for the New Year

A new year in sight, a new opportunity to take a breath and reflect on where you want to go next.

Using coaching techniques as well as techniques from the yoga tradition, plant a seed for 2020, whether that is a little project you’d like to tackle, a big plan you want to put into place or a dream you would like to follow. You will be guided through a nurturing Yin Yoga practice, finishing with a guided visualisation and relaxation.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, even if you are completely new to yoga.
